Murphy's Sharpening Service was established in 1991 in Cherry Valley, Mass. by myself Charlie and my wife Chris. I was introduced to the trade by a neighbor of mine who was a tool maker by trade and had a sharpening service himself for many years. His name was Arthur La Chance. In the beginning we sharpened just about everything from small hand tools to 48" saw blades, and most things in-between including clipper blades and shears. It did not take long to find a niche in the clipper sharpening / repair business. For about 10 years we operated a mobile shop and would sharpen at your site as well as operating a mail order service. The mobile shop came to an end in 2001, but I still picked up orders from my long established customers until 2017. We now continue to run the mail order service.
